FAQ
Short answers to common questions about launching, trading, claiming and $GITPAD.
Do I need to own a repository to launch its market?
No. Anyone can launch a market for an eligible public repository. The launcher earns a limited discovery reward, but never the builder fees. See Launching.
Can a repository have more than one market?
No. Each repository has at most one canonical market, keyed by its numeric GitHub ID. If a market exists, gitpad opens it instead of offering a new launch.
What happens if the repository is renamed or transferred?
It keeps the same market, because its numeric ID does not change. After a transfer, the new owner's admins can claim builder fees. See Repository identity.
How much is the trading fee?
1.75% on the bonding curve: 0.994% to builders, 0.406% to gitpad and 0.35% to the Meteora protocol. After graduation, the DAMM v2 pool fee applies instead. See Fees.
I maintain a repository that has a market. How do I get paid?
If you have current admin permission on it, go to /builders, connect GitHub, bind a payout wallet by signing a message, and claim. Fees accrued before you joined are included. See Builders.
Why do I need admin permission and not just write access?
Binding a payout wallet decides where a repository's earnings go, so gitpad accepts only a current admin result from GitHub, checked at each step. Write, maintain and triage permissions are not accepted.
Does the gitpad GitHub App get access to my code?
No. It requests only repository Metadata: read, which lets gitpad identify you and check your permission. It cannot read or write code or change settings.
Does launching mean the maintainers endorse the token?
No. A launch is not an endorsement by the maintainers or by gitpad. A token gives no ownership of the code or project. See Risks.
What does "graduation" mean?
When the bonding curve holds 85 SOL of real reserve, the market migrates to a Meteora DAMM v2 pool with permanently locked liquidity. Trading continues there. See Graduation.
Why is a market with high volume still far from graduating?
Graduation depends on SOL staying in the curve. Volume counts buys and sells together, and sells remove SOL from the reserve.
Why did my minimum received differ from the estimate?
The minimum received is the quote minus a fixed 1% slippage allowance. If other trades move the price by more than that before yours lands, the trade fails instead of filling at a worse price. Price impact is separate and is already included in the quote. See Trading.
Why does claiming discovery rewards cost SOL?
Your wallet signs the claim transaction and pays its network fee and any account setup. Builder claims are different: gitpad's signer submits them. See Discovery rewards.
Can agents launch markets for me?
Agents can prepare a launch review link through gitpad's MCP server. Only you can approve the launch, in your own wallet. See Agents.
Where is the $GITPAD contract address?
$GITPAD is not launched yet. Its mint address will be published on the $GITPAD page at launch. Treat any earlier claim of an official address as false.
